Didn't get much done today! Been raining CATS AND DOGS since Saturday,and my vacation ends TOMORROW! Had a to-do list a mile long,of stuff I wanted to do to "'Tater". Got about a "block" of stuff accomplished: Tuesday, (Camped Memorial Week-end,Vacation Time!)I raised the hoist,PROPPED it,and commenced finishing the rust-proofing of the frame rails and under-side of the bed. I pulled the 2, 13' and 2,8' OAK side-boards out of the old bus camper they've been stored in the last 10- months,and commenced applying a nice coat of "Thompson's Water-Seal". Made a "tent out of some old fence-posts and a tarp,to keep the wood dry? Got rained-out Wednesday.:( Thursday: I got up at 5:00,saw the Sun was shining,and RAN out of the house,to drive 20-miles to work on"'Tater". Got the METAL "headache"-rack primed,the uprights primed,and my OAK side-boards were lying under about 6" of rain-water! I pulled the tarp off of the wood,and let the boards air dry,before getting them installed! Had enough fun with the "headache" rack. No welder,so we drilled the holes in the origional stakes,to accomodate the larger bolts needed to secure the rack to the flatbed. We finally got that accomplished,then it only took about an hour to install the side-boards. I still need to trim the 13-footers,since they hang-over the box by about 6".and the two rear stakes need to be trimmed,but "Tater"'s lookin' BETTER!! Like Phil from "Duck Dynasty says:HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!! I'll make a video of the progression tomorrow,so stay tuned...
