This weekend I completed the body work on my truck cab.
Here is what it looked like before I shot it with primer: pic

I did the following things to it over the last 2 months:

Completely disassembled it

Hauled it to the dipper in Milwaukee and back

Cut out rusted metal and welded patches in the front inner and outer lower cowl area and one spot in the back of the cab

Welded up aftermarket antenna holes and some cracks in the rear cab corner flanges

Hammered out dents to within < 1/32 of the metal surface and filled with Merson filler

Melted out the lead in the A-piller seams and replaced it with fiberglass reinforced filler

Sanded entire cab lightly to promote primer adhesion and wiped down with wax/grease remover

Sprayed it with two coats of epoxy primer, being careful to cover all surfaces thoroughly - inside and outside and underside.

Next step is high build primer to fill rust pits and small imperfections and then lots of block sanding.
