My son visited from Chicago for the Holiday and with his assistance I FINALLY got that 1946 windshield out!
The internal rust within the hinge assembly prevented it
from opening enough to get a screwdriver on the upper screws to the window frame. I finally had to break down and cut the heads off. Next challenge: removing the studs from the frames without hurting anything.
