After avoiding it, I finally tore into the drivers side front axle to replace the kingpin (did passenger side a few weeks back) Everything removed except for the kingpin itself (had to take a break from the hammering) Right side fought me alot so it's no surprise that the left side is too. Actually the left side is fighting me more. Had a hard time pulling the drum, turns out a spring had broke and the brake shoes were against the drum and catching on a lip inside the drum. The lower bolts had "attached themselves" to the steering arm, After hammering failed to free the front one I tried a breakover to spin the bolt (and hopefully free it) but snapped the bolt instead. I still need to get whats left of the bolt out of the steering arm.
So in other word just the normal fun of working on a 60 yr old truck smile
