Drop off the SM420 trans at the local transmission
shop.I gave them the bearing overhaul kit.Hope to save
money.Allen my shop friend said about $200.00 in labor cost on the trans and me supplying the bearing kit at $148.00. I don't think that's bad, they done all my
transmissions in the past . Allen says its a 1965 with
the rib on its side and it has the back up bracket
on it.I checked the numbers sometime ago I thought it
was a 1960.Thats ok with me.
