The man in the brown box showed up today and brought me a few things from Classic Parts. I got my new defroster hose (Yay!), and that puppy is in. Also put in the new vacuum hose grommet. Amazing how tiny little things can make a guy happy. Also received my new windshield rubber. Didn't get it in, but it sure needs it. Also, got a bad surprise when I found out the new dual dash speakers made to fit the '51 (that I've been waiting for so I can stop wearing my ipod buds,) don't fit the radio in the truck. In other words, somebody did a very nice job of reworking the dash so they could fit the present stereo with 5 1/2" centered knobs. I'd never thought about the possibility that the very nice looking dash wasn't original knock outs. Looked behind it and, yep, there's fiberglass patches where there should be AD radio holes. Oh, well. I couldn't afford to get that $500 original style radio for a while, anyway. And at least I've still got a few old cassettes around somewhere. Ozark Mountain Daredevils, anyone?
