I got my gas gauge working at last! Original 6V gauge quit working, so I replaced it with a 12V. Couldn't get it to work. While running some test leads I discovered an inline voltage reducer on the power wire, evidently installed by the previous owner. Removed that and now my gauge works! Taking a lunch break now, will reassemble the dash afterwards.
