Painted my 261 oil pan, valve cover and pushrod cover plate with "Detroit Deisel-Alpine Green". Need to wire brush the block and head for the same... maybe after I put in the valve guides and assemble the head.
Valve Guides are ordered... I drew up plans for a guide installation tool and had a buddy make it for me. I'm confident it will work well.
Oh. I also won a set of NOS main bearings off Ebay for 14 bucks! A set of connecting rod bearings and a gasket set to go, and I'll be ready for an engine assembly process!
Just bought a "JOBMASTER 261" Valve Cover Decal from Jim Carters.
