I bought a 35.00 timing light then remembered there was no positive connect under the hood. Make note: route a + contact to firewall. Luckily I have a stack on batteries on a tender a few feet from the truck.

Jim, I use the 12v off the back of the alternator for the 12V positive on my '53

I will use that contact next time. I do wonder what I will do if I need to jump start as my battery cover is under carpet.
It would be a real hassle to drop the battery.
