A friend of mine, held the punch while I used a very long handled sledge hammer with the door hinge in a large vise to get that pin out. After 60+ years, it was very stubborn. If you have a very brave friend, a really accurate hit to the exact place, you can get them loose, otherwise you may end up drilling them out. I took the 'friend' route because its very very hard even with a good drill press to get that bit to follow the very center of the pin. Especially since there is no really good reference. The hinge is modeled such that there is no square reference to go by. Hats off to those who have been able to drill them out. I have been successful in doing it, but not 100% of the time. When I find myself going wrong, I just stop, get out the PB Blaster, and slow down a bit. Havent ruined one yet.

I also learned that if the spring hole is warbled or not completely clean, the spring can slip, so I have sometimes welded the hole shut and redrilled the hole a little deeper and cleaner. Fun stuff!
