Jim,it's an '85 Firechicken Borg Warner unit.
Problem is I gave them the original driveshaft fom an 81 vette which donated the engine and trans.
In the end they made a complete new shaft rather than use the 'vette ends,but copied the 'vette sizes.(My fault!)
The front fits no problem.
There's now a mis-match on the rear end,so i'll need a conversion UJ.
I'm heading out there this morning,so i'll find out what's involved....
Hopefully it won't involve too much cash!

What I don't understand is how the Pontiac yolk stops the bearing caps from 'walking' sideways.There's no retaining circlips or lugs cast into the yolk. headscratch
I have heard of UJs with internal c-clips....
