Going thru the brakes on my 45 1.5 ton. Replaced the right front wheel cylinder. Found a pinhole leak in the brake line crossing to the left front. Replaced that line. Had the rocker cover off, put new hats on the valve stems (thank you Pre 68 Dave!). Replaced a leaky oil gauge line.

Put everything back together, cranke 'er over, was rewarded with an awful squalling sound, a fwap and thump. Lord, I've somehow blown up my babbit pounder 235!

No, failed to notice that the brake leak had been spraying up just in front of the generator. At least, I think thats what caused the poor things bearings to seize up. The fwap thump was the belt letting go. But I had an extra generator in my box of extry parts, so thats on now, go hit the MFA for a belt tomorrow.
