I took the 3rd member out of my parts truck last weekend to put in my daily driver. I borrowed another set of jack stands from a friend and pulled the 3rd member out of my 59 Apache. when I pulled the axles out I realized my bearings were shot. I ordered bearings, seals, & gaskets from Classic Parts. Had to ride my motorcycle all week but finally got to start putting it back together about 5:00 this evening. I was kind of nervous about it because I had never even took a differential cover off before but it went back together pretty easy. I drove it to town to haul off trash and then went to Sonic for 1/2 price milkshakes. Truck has not been so quiet going down the road since I got it. When I got home tonight I looked under it and it was not leaking any grease at all. I was proud. Sunday will be the test when I have to go to my folks for Mother's Day. They live about 35 miles away. I think I have it fixed though. I am keeping my fingers crossed just the same.
