I added front tube shocks to my '38.
When I rebuilt my truck, the lever action shocks were rusted and frozen. I put it back together without any front shock absorbers.
Needless to say the steering was quite twitchy at speeds above 50 mph.

I took it for a test drive and the steering is solid, even at 65 mph.

What a huge improvement.
I guess the engineers at GM knew what they were doing.

I used shocks and upper mounts for an AD truck.
