Got the alternator refitted (I couldn't resist giving it a polish)with the new wider belt,traced a battery drain problem to the ignition switch,re-adjusted it and all seems well.
The acid test will be this morning.
Attended to some smaller issues like a rattling interior light while I was waiting for the battery to charge.
