Yes you did but here's what I used Hycote Chrome Look and like I said on the HAMB you need to get it nice and warm and shake the living h*ll out it to ensure good mixing.
Not sure if you'll get it in the USA but I imagine if it is available,it's something the likes of Autozone might sell.

It'll never be chrome but it's a good stop gap.

There was a paint I used a few years back called "Nearest thing to chrome" it was really shiny,only problem was it was really soft and you couldn't laquer it.
This stuff seems to be a bit better.
