I finally re-reinstalled the 3 speed transmission on the 55.2 235. This time the engine was in the truck, so it was a supine affair. That was about the sixth or seventh time I've installed or helped install a 3 speed on a 235, second time on this truck, and it has always taken more than the allotted amount of time.

I hope to be back on the road soon!
