Yesterday the old '53 3100 saw the light of day for the first time since 1988. We rolled it out of the barn for a good pressure washing, inside and out.

Since I had taken the seat out last week, I sat on a five gallon bucket to steer it as my wife pushed. I offered her the option, she didn't want to drive. LOL

First I had put a folding chair in there, but it was too tall, so I used the bucket. I took pics of both and put them on facebook, asking my friends to help me decide between captain's chairs or bucket seats for my truck.

I also removed the gas tank from inside the cab. That 26 year aged gas sure was nasty, and fortunately there was less than a gallon of it.

Under the gas tank, I found a Buffalo Nickel. Somebody must have lost it through the seat many years ago.

My nephew showed up with his tractor just in time to help me pull the truck back into the shop.

We also got all of what was left of the bed bolts loose, but were not able to remove the bed. It has a farm built rear bumper with a piece of vertical angle iron on that is welded to the outside of the stake pocket on one side. I didn't have any batteries charged for my cordless grinder, so the bed will wait until next time.
