Typical to my project. I drove her to church yesterday and when I closed the driver's door after returning home I heard that old pop sound everyone remembers if they ever drove one of these truck. In my old Bolt the door needed adjusting and would rub and make that popping sound when the front vertical edge of the door rubbed against the lower cowl.
Had I done the smart thing (never been accused of that) I would have spent some time investigating the cause of the pop sound. I loosened the screws on the hinges to make the adjustment then went to the passenger's door to check the clearances there. When I opened it I heard a pop. That caused me to investigate what was going on there. I had installed interior light door switches and the switch had worn some paint off the door. I rubbed a little cup grease at that spot and the popping sound stopped.
Mystery solved but I now have to readjust the driver's door.
Ain't it fun?
