Well, it was too good to be true... I finally was able to get out on the road for a good stretch and could plainly hear the old 216 was knocking. Now I know why it was parked and put to pasture so many years ago.

The good news, I already have my hands on a replacement 235. It will be a good opportunity to eliminate a myriad of nuisance leaks from the front seal to the differential.
