Ok, not just today, but over the past several months I've been tinkering with the '54 panel.
Rebuilt all the wheel cylinders, master cylinder and replaced all the rusted out brake lines. Changed out the tires and wheels at the same time.
Took the bumpers and grille out and painted over that ugly blue with some satin black.
Rewired the headlights and front parking/turn signals. Went over the wiring to the taillights and did away with all the corroded factory blade connectors, so now the head, tail and factory turn signals all work. Replaced the front t/s lenses with amber ones cuz I like 'em and I've got a new lense for the center taillight on order.
Took the steering wheel off and cleaned up the turn signal switch. Now it not only works, but the self canceling part is functional. Fixed the horn contact while I was at it, so the horn also works now.
Took the later model 3 speed shifter off and replaced it with the correct one so that the shifter clears the steering wheel now. Much easier to manuver in a tight spot.
Posted some pics of the truck sitting at the gas pump on it's maiden voyage under it's own power in the truck album in my sig.
