Happened a week ago with the '46, sort of analogous to Big Chevy's day above. Truck had been sitting for over 9 months without being cranked, so I didn't have my hopes too high. Did my checklist, prepared for a lot of cranking to get her going, decided to just bump it a few turns and check things out before running it - too late - fired on first bump, awesome!! Amazingly quiet with nothing but a straight pipe on it so far.

All fluids I had anything to do with held tight, no guages connected yet so I didn't run it too long but did adjust my electric fan setting to come on just to make sure it worked. But then I noticed the power steering box (Plymouth - no hate mail guys) had a bad leak, fluid puddle on the ground. Probably a $0.50 O-ring that will cost $200 to replace - I'm taking it somewhere to do it. I'm pooped, it looks like a very hard to reach knuckle-banger causing much sailorly language, and I just know it will take me a full day or more and is likely to turn out badly. It's worth my mental health to have it done.

Also checked all the lights after nearly completing the new wiring harness - sons-of-guns all worked! Just need to get my electronic flasher relays installed so the LED's will blink.

Managed to get the steering column switch replaced, just missing the canceling cam and turn signal lever, on order, to finish that little sub-project.

And, got the new windshield glass yesterday, take it to the tinter Friday for the clear V-Cool film application and then the glass goes back in.

Finally, the Green Farmer had an unplanned visit to get a binding e-brake cable replaced and some VERY loose front wheel bearings repacked and tightened.

Sounds more productive than it's felt lately when I write it all down. Phew.
