I did read the tech tip. The hood is on my list but a few other things come first. I guess the new clutch and TO bearing were either bad parts or put in wrong cuz it still screams at me as I ease the clutch out. Also seem to have a broken speedo cable. My wrench friend recently ruptured a disc in his back too...so I wait or find a new guy.

As to the hood...are the springs and hinges two separate parts? I already have and use the hood hold up rod. Maybe if I remove the springs it'll help ?

I now see that the springs are completely separate from the hinges...I think they'll be easily removed but dunno if it'll make any difference. One of the hinges, however, looks like it has a curve in the support which should rest on the cowl/firewall but is about 3/8" too high. I should address that too. I hope NOT to have to take the hood off to do this. The fenders cannot be moved since some PO welded them to the body for some unknown reason. ?
