I actually made some progress - installed the second taillight, figured out some of the wiring for the turn signals, discovered the passenger side front wheel bearings hadn't been properly torqued by the PO, found enough play in one of the tie rod ends that it'll need replacement...and I replaced the leaking rubber fuel hose at the base of the tank.

All-in-all, good progress.
