After some discussion about 4spd trans.,at this site, about early/later yrs,swapping..., I went out and looked over what I had. Found 2 old crashbox originals, one that I've seen before cause of the work I'd done to fix the (^#(_(*)@* thing. The one case has a broken mount/bolthole. But the guts/gears are AS GOOD AS NEW! No metal in oil,as, maybe someone rebuilt and dropped on the floor,broken off trans to engine mount?! So I just swapped cases(on the dining room floor,wifes away and when I say clean,it was"clean enough to"... well)and it feels like I might have newer trans(still a crash box), but need to get a new pressure plate(11"disc/flywheel),at least thats what I told myself. Can't wait to get out there..."in the cold rain and snow"
