Got a chance to drive the GMC around the neighborhood for awhile yesterday to see if everything works okay. ran out of gas about 2 blocks from home. Had a friend help me tow it home and get it parked.
With its burned valves it wasn't running great,but all the basics seem to function well. Discovered using an old weathered clutch wasn't my greatest idea,so once I get the cylinder head finished,installed and paid for,a new clutch and a rear window gasket are next on the list of "gotta haves". Bought a used big back window from a fellow in Pa. for $50.00 last week;it should be here Tuesday.
