Got the engine up to "normalized" temperature and adjusted the valves. Then I removed the side plate to check the push rods and discovered I forgot to order a gasket set for that. I then dropped the oil pan to replace with one that doesn't have pin holes. While down there I fought a sneaky pete trying to get the upper rear main seal out. Had no problem snaking the new one in. Everything looks tight, clean, and shiny down below. Slowly eliminating oil leaks with new gaskets.
