I finished mounting my new front tires on the 48 after painting the wheels (safety wheels). I had a problem starting the 48 a few days ago and figured that the fuel pump was to blame. I still had the electric pump installed but not plumbed that came in the truck so I hooked it up to keep running. I have always suspected that the electric fuel pump was overpowering my carb float and running gas straight into the block and this was comfirmed in short order. I hadnt driven the truck a couple of days when I noticed that I was burning more oil than usual and my oil pressure was low. I could see that the oil was thin. I replaced the pump with a spare and disconnected the electric pump, changed the oil and off we go again. The new tires in front really made a difference in the truck ride and steering. That was about it for the stovebolt work. I am trying to get things running well for the Independance Day parades.
