Last night, after almost 15 years of sitting, I started the engine in my '53!

It was a very good day!

Wish I could say it fired right up. First I cranked and cranked and nothing. Then decided it wasn't getting gas from the new tank, lines and pump - but when I removed the line at the carb (also new) there was plenty of gas. Next checked for voltage at the distributor and had it there. Took apart the new 15 year old distributor thinking maybe it was corroded after all these years and it looked brand new. Then it hit me to check for voltage at the distributor while cranking and sure enough as soon as it started to crank - no voltage. The ignition switch was wired wrong. Fixed that and bingo fired right up!
