Re: what did you do to engineer your seatto withstand 5G's?

Mainly just used what I could remember from my strength of materials and mechanics classes. Since you asked, I did more research to find out what kind of loads current cars are designed for - looks like about 20 G's (5000lbs). I just reran my guesses and I may be closer to 10G's. So I may be under-designed but it's still better than what it came with originally. Since I rarely go on the freeway I'm not overly concerned.
