Yesterday I worked to start the engine. Bought it and installed it in the fall of 06 and yesterday I had to check out everything to make sure there were no loose ends. I turned on the key (first time since finishing my wiring last fall) my gauges lit up and when the oil pump was spun the pressure went up to 50# and the fuel gauge went up to 1/4 tank (I had put about 5 gal of gas in the tank). That was great and looks like, so far, my wiring is correct. However when I turned the key to crank it, it turned over (another + for my wiring) but there was a loud crunch/bump. It seems I had the fan a little close to the radiator. I really wanted to run an original fan so had to move the radiator support 1/2" forward. Looks like it should have been 1" forward. The radiator took a small hit and needed some welding but is good as new (which is what it was) now.
I had to go out of town and won't be back until Monday. I'll crank her up then (cross my fingers).
