Hot Rod John...just do the bare steel!! You know you want to. My '54 is staying in bare steel but I will be clear coating it for better protection. I currently have my bare parts covered in Evapo-Rust. Been sitting for a month or so now and the parts that have been covered have no rust at all. But I did scratch a fender a little when moving them and rust started to appear. So that tells me the stuff does work when applied, but like everything you have to let them sit awhile before moving them incase you scratch them or wipe off the liquid by accident.
