OK, I done did it. I found a Pertronix module and installed it on 'Tater. The rotor magnet didn't wanna fit, but I "coaxed" it on with a spark plug socket and a rubber mallet. She fired right up, was about 5* after TDC, so just had to tweak the timing a touch. Overall runs great, but I'm still keeping the old guts in the cab, just in case!
IF I can get off my hiney today I need to drop the transmission out and replace the gaskets. Tired of dripping oil all over the durned place! Not to mention the cost of topping it off every few months,...
Once that's done I'm installing the Delco AM radio & a under dash casette deck. Radio needs work, but I have lots of tapes! Ahhh, tunes in the truck, yes!
I dig all cars, old and new, whether they were hammered out of American iron, German steel, or Japanese tin cans. Being unable to appreciate them all is missing out on a world of great things. But thats just MY opinion! :P
