Cletus: I reread the 2-bbl part & realized I mistyped that, it's a 1-bbl. Me & my fat fingers!
The odd thing is I went out & cleaned off the engine to get the numbers so I could get some more info on it and lo & behold, there are none! Should be on the edge of the casting right behind the distributor, but looks like they were removed a long long time ago. Beginning to wonder what the story is there, bet I can guess tho,...
As for the rear end, it's the GMC two speed with 1.36:1 planetary gear reduction. Will be all kinds of fun gettin that beastie overhauled.
Hotshoe: Thats the plan for the truck is to make it into a transporter for my bug. Since the car is so low I cant use a standard trailer, need a tilt bed. But a tilt start at about $3,000 around here. Can't see the point of payin that for something I'll only use a couple times a year & then have to pay to park it somewhere else. Figure for a little more I can get an old bolt, fix it up, convert it, and have something I can drive back & forth to work if I want. Except for the part where I cant have it at the house, it's a good plan.
Think I know where your boy works if he's Canadian military, dont know any of em personaly tho, lotsa people on this base. Whidbey isn't a bad place to be overall, good duty. Too darn many sailors for my liking tho, dirty bastages!
