Just my perspective, but if I were to get a flat, the flat tire would get tossed into the bed to get it home. Not to be worried about rehanging underneath until it's a once again a usable spare that I can rehang at home with some friendly floor jack assistance.
My thoughts exactly. Put the flat in the bed, get it repaired, then re-hang at home in my garage.
