Well, I couldn't leave it alone. I think it would have bugged me knowing that the core support was so thin. I proceeded this afternoon to cut it apart. Naturally, the rust iceberg grew and grew as I dug deeper. I rebuilt the whole lr portion. I think it turned out really well and it will alleviate any “rust gremlins” that may haunt my thoughts in the future!
