Back to school, back to school... ugh! Hahaha! It’s been a hectic few weeks to say the least. Last minute camping trips with my family, playing with my little guy, school prep (and shopping), last minute golfing, and of course trying to work on the C10. Sad to say I haven’t touched the truck much. I’ve almost been out of school 20 years and I’m still doing back to school shopping...for myself! Hahaha!

Well, I’m happy to say that I have been playing “par” golf...oh right, the truck! 😉

The reproduction cab corners really are a hit or miss item. I screwed up the first cut on the left hand side so I got a new one as mentioned above. I muscled it into place but of course it’s not perfect. I can massage it some but I feel I will weld it solid to the rocker to make it seamless. The right hand side was an absolute crap shoot. The 2nd patch I got was TERRIBLE. I mean there’s close, not so close, and then there’s “WTF?” That’s how bad its fit was. I pulled the first patch out of the steel bin and proceeded to reuse it. I will return the 2nd and voice my complaint.

However, the first RH patch did not follow the door curvature at all. It was much too straight. When I closed the door, the door stuck out beyond the cab corner by 1/4” I was mad at this point so I packed it in for about a week. I thought about how to remedy this problem. I proceeded to remove a few tacks, pulled it out slightly and I pie cut that panel along the lip that bends around the door jamb. This allowed me to “accordion” the patch and get the bend needed to fit the door’s curvature. I have more welding to do now, but it fits much better. I will still need to massage the bottom like the left by blending it into the rocker, but I’m happy with how it is turning out.
