Walter's schematic on page 17 is very doable. The third drawing makes total sense.
Rather than using full Bosch 30 amp relays, which might be the cheaper route to go, but finding 4 smaller maybe 5 amp. Very little draw. No diodes, a single flasher and adapts to his old stalk.

I'd build one....if I needed to, but I'm slapping in an old 7 wire NAPA from the early 60s.
