I'm with Jerry. Get the 7-wire switch and be done with it. That's what I did to add turn signals to my truck.
Bartamos' diagram has me scratching my head, and while I have no doubt it would work, it sure complicates things. You still have to run separate wires to the brake lights from wherever you put the relays.
