I'll throw my 2 cents in here. My truck has a 3 wire turn signal switch, there were some remnants of separate signal lights on the rear of the truck when I acquired it. I gutted the wiring and rear lights, installed single bulb medium duty truck lights, wired (2) DPDT relays under the dash, the switch just activates a relay and the flasher relay will happily run the rear and front turn signals, and they work when you apply the brakes. I don't know how to draw pictures with this electric typewriter but I think I made a wiring diagram that I could jamb through the phone wires for you.
