Hi jerry, yes this is a 1951 216 spray oiler.. it looks like I'll be able to see what's going on when I get the side cover off to replace that gasket.

Once I do that maybe the solution will become obvious. The tube as you can see in the picture appears to be copper but that might just be discoloration due to crud or something I can't really tell till I get it cleaned off.


I just finished pressure washing the valve cover inside and out. Got most of the baked on crud off of the inside and the cover itself is remarkably straight and doesn't look like it's going to require any tinsmithing.

I'll put a straight edge on it after I get it all cleaned up but it looks like it's in remarkably good condition.
