I know you are all about keeping "Ol Roy" original but it may be time to locate another rocker assembly. I'm sure someone on the BOLT has a better setup just setting around. In the instance you can't locate one contact the folks at Rocker Arms Unlimited, they should be able to fix you up. I sent them the assembly from my 235 project along with the lifters, they rebuilt the entire assembly and provided new shafts. They resurfaced the lifters to original specs. I was very happy with their work.
