Update:

Had to put the testing on hold for a couple weeks.....issues, then the blizzard.

Could not locate my specific gravity battery tester, so after topping off the battery and charging, I put the battery back in and took her for a test drive. She cranked great when cold, and I drove on the highway for 10 minutes. Came back and raised the hood while the truck was idling, and put a voltmeter on the battery terminals.....it read 14.6 volts. I then reved the engine up to about 2000 rpms, and the battery showed 15.25 volts. I turned the engine off, and immediately tried to start, and it started fine. I turned it off, and waited 5 minutes and tried starting.....this time, just that slow sluggish sound of a starter that did not want to turn over. I checked the battery, and it was reading only 12.25 after failing to start.

My conclusion is a bad battery. Will replace it, and then test the charging rate at idle and at 2000 rpms......Im hoping it will be down to a normal range so as to not boil my new battery. If its still charging high, I will replace the voltage regulator.

Thanks for everyone's input.
