The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Driveline Saginaw 3-speed Overdrive Question

I connected an external spring to pull the 1st/rev shifter arm toward the upward/reverse position to overpower its being pulled out of reverse when the overdrive is not locked out with the cable. That did not work. On my column shifter any movement done at the transmission does not carry to the shifter box. It only locks then must be unlocked from under the hood.

Still thinking and trying things.
