I cannot get past the fact that it worked fine with the PO, and now it doesn't. Have you tried hooking up the solenoid to a toggle switch to see if it works? Perhaps it is causing some minor binding in the tailhousing, thus, not allowing the rod to move freely? I don't see how it worked fine and now doesn't. Does the lever that engages and disengages overdrive move freely? If it does, then the rod should as well.
