Thanks! I saw that cast cam before I put the side cover on. Of course, I cannot see its function with the cover in place. The entire internal parts are precision machined or ground, so it is unexpected to me that a cast and not machined hub is meant to activate the rod. I still hold the guess that the drooping of that rod makes it contact at not the correct part of that cast cam.
