Here’s my assessment of the tank in question: The seam looks as though it was welded by a vey methodical robot. The failed connection looks like it was soldered by a low payed worker with insufficient training.
See photos –- the resemblance to the images from a recent thread on a similar topic is striking.
My inclination is to get that connection repaired to a proper standard and reinstall. That is not a final decision; I have only begun to consider my options in terms of repair method and source. Input on repair methods would be welcome. I have not ruled out welding - pros , cons?
