When I stick my head under the hood there is no significant gas smell- but then the engine compartment is very well ventilated.
I left the gas cap off for the night. Tomorrow I’ll see if that deliberate venting made any difference. All of the filler neck and vent tube connections look clean and new (they are actually new) , and all were dry today. There is no drip evidence under the truck.
I’ll report back after tomorrow’s inspection.
