I'm a newbie and googled "how to install the harmonic balancer".
I then read this whole thing. I laughed, I cried, I had a beer and then laughed and cried some more.
In the end, I got my answer and I thank all of the participants for that.
I'm going to use a hammer, with some finesse, and the moment I feel the bottoming out I'll stop. I think part of being a good mechanic is process, but in some cases it's "feel" combined with a particular process. Multiple ways to skin the cat, but this is the choice for me and without a wild caveman swing of the hammer, I'll be fine.
