There is nothing wrong about using the GM term "harmonic balancer", especially on a GM truck discussion board (balancing the harmonics). Check the Wikipedia and other on-line resources - a lot of people besides GM are mixed-up, it seems). This company seems to stay in business using the term.

Give it up. If we want to communicate with 90%+ of the members/lurkers on this website, it makes inarguable/unarguable sense to use the terms used by GM.
